Pad 1 on my 2k seems to be intermittent. It will work very well sometimes, sometimes it does not respond and sometimes it double triggers.
I am going to pop open the machine again this weekend to replace the floppy, so I am curious if there is anything I should do off the bat.
What I did last time it was open - checked the connector ribbon - it's fully seated. Lifted the pads up and looked at the sensors under them. I did not clean anything because I was not sure what to do there. The pads are in great shape and they appear to be the OGs, so I am wondering if this is something I can clean, or will I need look at replacing them.
I looked at the bottom of the actual pads but am not 100% sure what to be looking for there. Everything appears to be aligned so maybe it's one bad sensor? I read that typically the whole row goes out so I wanted to get some advice from you all.
