Straight to the point. I make a tight azz beat then save the sequence as ALL. Then i save the sounds as APS. turn the MP off cut it back on and crazy azz drums start playing. drums that i dont have assigned to the tracks. I use my motif es aslso. but i sequence all throught the MPC. the motif parts play fine, its thedrums in the MPC thats play all screwed up. what am i doing wrong. this freeakin thing does this on every beat i do. then when the correct drums finally start to play its because i had to load the APS and ALL file about 3-5 times.

make sure you MPC is not set to load the first PGM or APS it sees when starting up the machine. There is a SHIFT+(option) button to do this. Im at work so I can't tell you which (option) button .

Once you disable that you can load your pgm/aps manually. Also make sure you save you rprograms to a folder if you are using a zip drive or HD or SmartDisk. You can easily overwrite your sequence file if you use the default name if you are not naming your sequences or using it own folder w/ sounds.

You don't have to worry about this using floppies.

hope this helps.

I never save under APS. or ALL. . I use alphabets to organize my stuff . I'll go to save PGM. and save (for example) PGM. B3 and then I'll save the corresponding sequences like B3hook, B3bridge, B3verse and so on and it makes finding sh!t mad easy (it gets kinda difficult when you name every beat and have to remember what was going on when you thought it up to remember which one it is) . But I have a classic 2000 and I know the XL's has a few more features in the disk menu .
