recording from mpc to computer

hi i am trying to record my beats from the mpc to the computer... im using cool edit to record but it aint recording nothing.. i have the emu 0404 sound card.. i have plugged the cables from the mixer to the ins on the soundcard but it still aint recording nothing..... can you help me? thanks

i use the spdif output. i get a much bettet stereo mixdown using them, grwater bandwith and my bass has sheen and doesnt go muddy.
