is MPC2000 useable with broken backlight?

Is either the MPC2000 or MPC2000XL useable with a broken backlight? I've seen a few second-hand with this fault and they come out cheap!

Is broken backlight a show stopper or just inconvenient but useable in good lighting for example?

maybe in the daytime or if you have a light. but even the glare from the screen might mess that up.

If yo can cop one dirt cheap with a broken backlight,cop it.Backlights are fairly cheap so it may be worth it to get one while you can and just fix it up.I know kids that buy broken mpcs all the time,fix em and sell em.
