IDE/ATAPI CARD READER OR SCSI CARD READER?

just read some of the topics in the forum about the internal card readers in the 2000xl and im very interested in gettin either one.
im just not sure which one to get,plus i know their hard to get hold of aswell.

as far as i know,i can distinguish that the IDE/ATAPI card reader seems to be easier to install and the SCSI seems to be very flexible in connectivity.

can anybody give me some major advantages or dissadvantages of either of the card readers?

oh,and also.....do you think after installation the 2000xl will be able to handle a 1gb MMC card? as i just guessed there might be some issues due to the size of card being used.

They are basically the same, and work the same way. The install will be the same for both types of drives, the only difference is you connect them to different ports.

The ATAPI drives seem to be easier to find.

It looks very simylar to the one I installed in my MPC.

i think i have most of the information i need so far,thanks you guys

my only problem now is locating one,anybody know of a supplier in the UK?

Yeah that one looks exactly the same as the one I received in the mail today. If it is the same one it will work.

By the way, I'm pretty sure the MPC can only handle drives up to 512mb. Larger drives will work, but only the first 512mb will be recognized.

Yes, but do not forget that in MPC format, it can have 26 partitions.
