Using MPC2000XL Sequence files on MPC2000--Problem

I have created a bunch of sequences and songs on my 2000XL and want to give them to a friend who has a 2000. They are saved on zip disk. Problem: the programs will load but the sequences will not.
this message appears when i try: wrong file!!!
does anyone know what this means?

2k cannot read 2kxl *.seq files

MPC2000 cannot read mpc2000xl seq files. It's in the manual of mpc2000xl. Hope that helps.

Not going from 2kxl to 2k

Sorry, I don't know what else to tell you. If you made the seq's on the 2k u would be able to play them on 2kxl but not going from 2kxl to 2k, it'll never happen.

Not in my experience - all the sequences on Break n Bass were recorded in the XL and work fine on the MPC2000. It's just a standard MIDI file after all.

i hope someone else chimes in with how to make it work. this would really keep me from selling my 2000.

i know that going from a 2000 to an xl has been no issue for me since i bought my xl.
