Recording MPC tracks to you computers software

Excuse my ignorance if this is a stupid question, but can you make a loop on your mpc and then record each indivual track on a computer sequencer say Sonar or Protools for example. By doing this, when I want to record vocals and lay the track down on my computer I can take out individual snares or individual kicks without taking out the whole beat. I'm sure I can do this but is it hard or time consuming? Thanks

Even if a sequence is looped every instrument should be on it's own track.You can solo instruments that you don't want recorded for breaks and whatnot.Or you can just sync them and record each track individually,soloing and muting aas you need to,I think that's what you wanted to know right?

8-outs and Protools...I've thought about this before by using a multi-tracking program and just one by one recording in each track...but I've never tried it. The easiest way is installing the 8-outs...

Im not using an 8 outs, but it should give u and idea of what ur tryin to do.

IMO i think the 8 outs is uneccsary, thats just me

Not if you use a mixer....But thats just my view point

8 outs, 8 in soundcard/mixer, easier, less time consuming and requires money to spend to get the parts needed.

stereo outs and soloing tracks, time consuming and cheaper.
