Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

I'm recently got my 2k upgraded w/ 8 outputs to tweak and mixdown each track individually. I primarily use a Roland Jv 2080 that I midi to the MPC for my drums and melodies etc.

I plug everything into a Mackie DFX 12 mixer to hear my sounds.

I run quarter inch cables from my stereo outs on the MPC and JV and those give me my main sound that I am hearing.

When I attempt to run cables from the 8 outs to the mixing board, I'm not getting any sound.

What's the deal with mixing down midi on an analog mixer. Is it possible??

(All inputs would be appreciated, I'm trying to troubleshoot as much as possible before bringing it back to the technician who installed it and blaming him) Peeeace

mixing midi? no man you have midi and audio totaly confused

midi has no sound its just a DEFINITION for conversation between 2 devices but if your running your channel from the mpc that contains midi i dont see why it would play back sound.as long as your mpc channel is routed.

Ya gotta independently assign each sound an output.

gcottrell is right, go into the mixer screen of your mpc and assign the sounds of your sequence there to the individual outs. otherwise you won't hear thing when you connect the 8 oughts to the mixer.
