For me, it increases the maximum partition size. Using 1.14 OS and a 1GB compact flash card, the MPC wanted to make 2 or more partitions (anything over/ after 900MB)

1.20 'fixed' this - Not sure if the fix enables the MPC to read up to 2GB as a single partition but my 1gb is operating as one so its all good in that aspect.

Everything else works the same for me....No crashing/freezes...Jus same old MPC since 1.14

Thats how it is for me anyway....I dont know about anyone else

thats cool- damn i only have a small drive...still anything that makes it more stable is welcomed- mine has developed a perchant for doing one of those full on proper crashes (y'know the one's that cause the screen to fill with code and the mpc to play all your samples in a row) every now and then; its not frequent- in fact only happens when im genuinely excited about a groove which i haven't saved and i hit one button too fast....

Ha! That could be your memory on its way out....Maybe dust....Always worth reinserting themand seeing how u get on from then on

Dont think Ive had one of those....Not in a few years if I have. Long samples and rapid button pushing use to crash me but Im a lot calmer these days 8)

im just a bit of a nightmare when it comes to time management- ill hit on something but realise ive pressed the buttons before i knew i was doiing it et volia- two hours down the drain...

ive actually kept it on once to see if i could coax it back but no- four hours later still same screen and weird sample playback-

strange as its always been so stable- trust me to find a way to crash hardware (ive crashed the mc505, my juno, two mobile phones- must be my magic touch!)

cheers though- will do, starnge how much trouble a little dust can cause!

With the OS 1.2 I am able to access the internet on my MPC and download samples to it!
What a concept!
