plextor cd-rom and IBM hdd dont work together

hello,

i have a mp2000xl and an external scsi case (2 slots) with an IBM DDRS-34560 4.5 GB HDD and a Plextor Ultraplex 40max cd-rom. the scsi case is terminated from outside.
my problem is, that the two drives do not work if i connect them together.
when i connect them seperately they both work fine.
i set the id's to 0 and 1.

does anyone have any experience according to this problem?

i only jumpered "enable auto spin", so scsi id is 0

Ultraplex 40 max



here i jumpered "scsi-id bit" 0 (so scsi id is 1) and parity.

both drives work with its configuration if i connect them seperately in the scsi case.

Which IBM DDRS-34560 4.5 GB HDD? There are three models?

can you tell me what "TI-SDTR (50-pin)" means? the model is "Ultrastar 9ES 4.5gb" 50-pin.
