Trouble with samples

aight people i got a problem i got a real dope sample i chopped up and i loaded it up and got the ticks on tiem but when i lace a beat it sometimes falls off slightly. does anybody have any advice on gettin samples to fit to the bars? and tips techniques whatever im just having trouble with using samples at the minute any help would be great jus drop some advice on what yall do thanx. pz...

i thought id just add my sample is like 1min plus its an old record i samples.

Try time strecthing, moving sample start/end times in increments, adjusting the tune of the pad up or down slightly. Some or all of these can possibly fix your problem.

1 minute is a long single sample. Have you tried breaking it into smaller sections. Try adjusting the zones within the loop. Also, sometimes you can make a sample fit into 4 or 8 bars better if you adjust the attack and decay on the sample. Then you end up with a volume swelling / fading type of effect on the starting or ending points.

Adjusting the tempo of a sequence works for me as well...pz

let me get this straight, are you actually playing the one minute sample for a minute? then lacing drums or whatever underneath? if this is this case you definitely want to chop into smaller samples, even more so if it is an old record. those dudes didnt have midi clock or even tight click tracks to play against back in the day, and even if they did they probably wouldnt have used em. they are all over the place. chop it up, retrigger, and then maybe play with swing on the drums a little to get it to fit against other samples.
