Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

Ok maybe it is me. I have read the manual and even asked questions and I am still having the same problem.

I have a disk I want to load to a some pad banks. The disk has an 808 kick. What I am trying to do is load the 808 kick to the top 4 pads on my drum sampler, but after I load the 808 kick to 1 pad and repeat the same process (LOAD THE SAME 808 KICK TO THE PAD NEXT TO IT) It says" file has already been loaded do you want to replace"? Am I doing something wrong, or is it that I can not load the same sound (808 kick to multiple pads)

Please Help!

Thanks

sounds like what u need to do is just change the name of the sound each time once its loaded into the MPC cause u cant load the name of the same sound, so if u go in and change the name once its on that pad each time, u shouldnt have a problem adding all 4 on each pad

this is how it works on th XL, I'm gonna assume it will wrk the same on the classic 2k as you get the same message on the XL if you try to load the same sample onto different pads. The reason it tries to replace the sample is cuz it's already loaded into ram, you have to assign it to different pads

Load up your sample> go to the program assign screen> hit the pad you want to load the sample to> scroll til the sample you want to load comes up> repeat for all the pads you want to have that same sample

Just noticed this guy gave you the same answer in your other thread about this

You need to go into the newbie section and catch up. Just reading threads will teach you stuff around here....... just like with your manual.
