sup, i jus wanna say thanks for havin this forum, and i also wanted to say that ive tried to search for this troubleshootin but didnt find what i was lookin for.

Ok heres my prob, I own a 2000XL, i got da external Scsi Zip Drive (250)
When i make a Folder on the zip on win XP, the mpc wont recognize the folder, BUT.... If i create the folder on the Zip through the MPC the PC reads it fine.

Is there any way i can make a folder on a PC and get the MPC to recognize it? is it possible through win98 or sumtin? im gettin a scsi harddrive next week but i still wanna know if i can make a folder on the pc and get the mpc to recognize it.

Unfortunately your going to have LOADS of problems of this nature, MPC Format and Windows format are not alike and tend to overwrite each other everytime u exchange the disk. VERY UNWISE. However i think MIDICASE aka MPC3000 made a tool to help repair these problems. www.mpc2000xl.com <--- here

also about the folders. the ZIP should have been formated as a PC ZIP first. this will allow folders. Make sure all files and folders are 8 Chars Long and no more. U can use a SCSI HDD, but dont have the PC and MPC run from it at the same time, nor a zip drive.

the cleaner way to exchange files to pc, is to have a seperate zip.
when u load your beats and stuff, get a clean zip and save to it, then load in the pc and save edit etc. never use yor MASTER disk, use one that aint part of your collection , so when it gets corrupt u dont have to worry about loosing important data.
