You have to make sure that your sound is mono to use a single output. Go to trim mode and convert your sound to mono if its in stereo. Now when you go back to your mixer you will only be able to send it through only one output(1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8 pick one.) Normally your drums are mono and depending on the sample it may be stereo or mono. When you sample you can set this too.(Whether you want to sample mono or stereo.) Hope that helps a little.

The 8 out are cool if you have a mixer or track recorder. if i was rich i would buy a tube, EQ and a compressor for each output. But the real reason you should get it is it includes Digital in/out that is attached to the 8 analouge outs so when you make a track you could burn it to cd without losing any sound quality.

If you have a soundcard with 8 ins 8 outs and digtital in and out, you can also use the 8 outs on the Mpc with a program like Sonar Cubase Pro Tools, etc. They all have mixers in them. There are many options.

yeah, just make your samples mono and not stereo
