Balanced Connection

As most of you know, I am the miserable human being with the electrical noise problem.. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to figure it out, but I am still fighting this.. I have a question about the unbalnced outputs of the mpc.. See, right now the two unbalanced outputs of the mpc are connected to 2 balanced inputs on my mixer(VS-1680).. Is there anything that I need to do since I am going from unbalanced to balanced?? Is this what's causing the electrical noise??

possibly, get a direct box with a ground lift and see if that helps. a direct box converts unbalanced to balance. the ground lift might help you out. also, heres a little trick that works with bad electrical hum. get an adaptor that makes your three prong power cord into a two prong power cord. any hardware store should have em. sometimes there might be electrical hum passing through your gear if they are all plugged into a similar outlet and trying to ground each other. called a 'ground loop.' try that first, then the direct boxes.

No need to buy anything as long as you have a set of mono cables. Inserting a mono cable into a balanced jack AUTOMATICALLY makes an unbalanced connection.

The only rule you really have to follow is:
Do not use stereo (balanced) cables between a balanced and un-balanced jack. If you do it leaves one pin floating and causes a 6dB drop in level. The result is a more noise since you have to raise overall levels to compensate for it.
