Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

Alright...so someone says plugging a stereo headphones into an output and getting both sides means the output is balanced...so I do this with one of the 8 outs on the mpc 2000 and whattyaknow, both sides play the sound, while the main outs only get mono, making them unbalanced. If this isn't right, please correct me as I'm going to probably get a balanced trs-trs 8 cable snake to replace the dying Hosa one I already have.

They are unbalanced.

Only the sampling inputs are balanced

Okay, so the 8 additional outputs are unbalanced stereo jacks?

"Sorry, it wasn't clear..."

Well the question was "8 outputs balanced/unbalanced? "

And the answer was "They are unbalanced."

Was there something not clear about that? I just want to know so I do not make the same mistake in the future.

The headphone trick is not reliable since most of Akai's gear uses the same 3 connector output jacks whether they are balanced or not. For unbalanced, two of the connectors could get the same signal (i.e. wired together) thus resulting in a `sterero` signal to headphones.
