Please Help with Memory install mpc2000

Wassup, I need help installing memory into my MPC2000... I have removed the case of the mpc and put a 16mb card in each slot, but when I boot up the mpc and check the memory it still says 2mb?

Either one of two things didn't put it in in the correct manner or you have the wrong memory. When I first started installing memory in a few of my friends mpcs that seemed to be the case.

Can you tell me the currect manner, or a few different ways I should try it?

just make sure its clicked in firmly.

It clicks in fermly both of them, yet still it does not shot up? any clue?

Got to make sure the memory is right and it took me some trial and error of going to computer stores to get the right memory at this minute I don't have my classic 2000 in my possession but I will try to get an exact name and and all that just give me a couple of days.
