Dog, Check a few things to try and solve this.

Make sure it's a SCSI zip drive. If it's a paralell port rather than SCSI, you will blow the scsi fuse on the MPC, and possibly damage the machine. Paralells are for PCs only, and will NOT work with the MPC.

Set the scsi ID (dipswitch on the back on the ZIP drive) to 5. Also, thurn the TERMINATE dipswitch to ON. The MPC recognizes that product as scsi ID 5, and if it is unterminated, will be looking for other devices in the chain.

For some reason, when I scroll to device: SCSI 5, on the MPC disk screen, it says SCSI NOT READY. THis happens everytime, and I have to scroll back to ID 4, then to 5 again to 'wake up' the device. I think this is an inherant problem in some MPCs, and isn't damaging. Try doing that.

MAKE SURE you have a ciable disk. The disks you are using may be corrupted. This is the #1 reason for getting the WAIT screen indefinately.
