choppa

Ok tring to chop up my sampled drum loop but its not doin it correct.

I am tring to simply take the snare and place it on pad a1 - a4 at different pitches , then take the kick and place it on a5 - a8, then place the conga on a9 ect.

The problem is the sample wont split and its place the same sample on all the pads.

What are we doing wrong?

You need to go to the trim screen and then cut al the samples you want (kick, snare etc etc.) and then save as new sound.

After trying in the trim mode I lost everything after the first kick edit. I also wanted to chop out the snare and the hats and assign them to different pads. The trim function doesnt seem to be doing the job.

Let say I got a sample "Do- RE-Mi"

How do I edit the sample and assign "DO" to Pad A1 "RE" to pad A2 and "MI" to pad A3

OK the white selected is what you will not hear right?

then you click edit and choose for new sound and then a new screen with only the kick will open if you scroll back, then you see the complete sample and you do the same thing with snare as you did with kick...very simple

i'm not sure i understand but try this:

in the trim field make your samples the way you want them to sound,
then name them and go to your program screen (shift+6)

hit drum 1, then hit the pad you want to assign your sound to .

when you hit the pad it will display the sound you sample at first,
(if you named the samples in the trim field) then use the data wheel to look for them and assign them to the pads you want.

select trim,
choose sample do-re-mi
highlight the do part of the sample
you can make sure its the right part by making sure that play in the top right hand corner is set to zone.
choose zone edit
then choose create new sound
once finished rename the new sample
repeat process for re and mi parts of sample
go to progams and do pad assign for each sample.

this should work for u, if some of the steps or wording is off forgive i'm doing this off the head while work.
