floppy is cause of anger
need something that will actually allow half my wavs to be loaded instead of the ones that are tiny size and dont sound very good
from looking on the site
it seems that a zip drive is the way to go
should i get 2 zip drives? a zip for my pc and one for my akai?
or should i sample from my soundcard onto the akai using the 189 seconds of sample time i got and store things on the zip for moving to friends house etc.
saying i sample from the soundcard (would i be able to sample from my stereo amp or would that not work) it would be the green plug-in right?
so rca to 1/4'' cable or something like that....
anyone that answers thanks a bunch im not sure who else is gonna help me out hehe.

absolutely get zip drive for mpc! only use it for mpc or it will make you angry to swap cab;les all the time! get usb zip for pc and scsi for mpc. you can swap disk much easier than swapping drive!
Use your gears strengths - pcs are great for managing files and quick editing of sounds etc - mpcs are wicked for beats! you should learn how to sample and edit on the mpp but it is heaps more efficient doing it on the pc - you need to know how to do all that on mpc tho...
you can sample from the line out on you amp - all this stuff (cd player, tape, video, mpc, computer) is line level stuff, so they're all friends. Turntable needs a pre amp to make it loud enough to be line level. not sure what you sound card is or looks like, but they usually have a little picture with arrows pointing at a hole for input and arrows pointing out a hole for output. they also sometimes have a picture of a microphone and/or heaphones - don't use these they're crappy quality usually. I think that should do you! good luck.

time to go cable shopping i guess
right now i use an rca cable that goes from the headphones out on the akai into the md/tape in on the stereo
gonna need similar looking cable only with 2 1/4'' on one side and 2 standard rca on one side right?
or maybe just one rca from the headphone jack on my amp into the rec in on the mpc would that work?

Get an rca cable that has rca at each end and then get adapters to go to 6.mm jacks into the back of MPC. Even better, get a cable that has 6.5mm on one end and rca on hte other. Only use your headphone output for you headphones coz it has a little preamp in it and makes it nasty when you plug it into an amp.
