smart media card write protect

what up people?
Does anybody know how to keep a smartmedia card from becoming write protected ? I reformatted the card using the fat file format on my p.c
under x-p
I can copy files to it from p.c but if I try to save from the mpc it says that the card is write protected.
My mpc operating system is 1.14 I can save to compact flash and sd memory cards but its the smartmedia that I cant save any mpc files to.
Its a pny 128mb card also it's not really a big issue however I would like to be able to use all the card slots for various functions.

SD cards have a little switch tyoe thing on the side if I'm not mistaken. take a long and put it to off...

I'm not talking about SD cards I'm talking about my Smart Media card
I have no problem with SD or compact flash cards

By placing a small adhesive seal over this circle, you will be unable to write or delete to this card, protecting whatever you have on it. If you want to modify the card’s contents, just take of the seal and you will be able to write and delete again.
