step edit function?

To tell the truth I haven´t figured out how to work the step edit function, but now thanks to you guys, I´m beginnin´ to see the light at the of the tunnel...
I´m just so used to grid edit from software sequenzers, like the one on the 4k... But I`m gonna give dis a go...

Also, a lil tip for a soft sequenzer, for everyone who liked the old "Fasttracker", check out Renoise at renoise.com...
It´s very simple sequenzer with capabilities of very complex editing...

Look for an artist by the name of "Autechre", an english guy who produces some really amazin´ shit on this tracker.

Hmm, I'm gonna have to try step edit myself. My background is playing drums, so it's always been more natural to just erase and re-play if something is off. I always loved the 'piano roll' type editing on computer sequencers, but the MPC step edit always looked like gibberish to me (like all the numbers streaming in "The Matrix")
