Not tight

Im using my mpc to sample,chopp the sample and make beats,but i fund that its difficult to make the chopps tight in beat,i dont know if it is just lack of experience on the mpc,i been using it for a couple of month.But i never get that on the Pc.maybe its the swing function..Is it a way to turn the swing of??

I doubt that its the swing function, your problem is that your sample is not matching your sequence.Try assigning the sample to 16 levels of velocity. Play with the pads till you find the one that locks in "tight" with your "beat". Thats the easiest solution in my opinion.

I never tried that."16 levels velocity" isnt that only adjusting volume?

16 levels is pitch not volume.

Use the "open window" button on timing and/or swing and that may help also. HINT, use open window on EVERYTHING.

or go into param field and move to upper right coner where the speed is and open your window and adjust your pitch there.

you can use 16 levels for tuning and velocity.

to tighten up your beats, make sure you have edited the heads of all the samples right up to the begininng of the sample. if there is a lot of space at the begining then it wont trigger exactly where you want it to. do this in the trim screen.

just turn the loop mode... on.... go into params.... and the bpm is there... adjust the pitch... and bpm-match it.... its fast and accurate....

it's probably your quantize setting.
