Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

How is this done on the MPC? I know by default the sample plays full when u hit the pad. If you hit the pad during the sample, it will overlap. If you turn loop on the sample will only play for as long as the pad is held. But how do I do it so the sample will play when i hit the pad, then cut off and start from the beginning when I hit the pad again? Thanks.

SWITCH FROM POLY MODE TO MONO IN YOUR PARAMATERS SCREEN AND MAKE SURE THAT THE LOOP FUNCTION IN YOUR TRIM SCREEN IS SET TO OFF.

Dope, thanks. Now is it possible for different samples to cut each other out? Or only the same sample can cut itself out?

I'm not sure how to use other pads to cut off one another. So far I only know how to cut off the same sample using the tip I gave you. I know theres a way to have samples/ other pads cut each other off but I haven't discovered it yet. Perhaps someone else will see these postings and give some feedback. Peace!

In the program Param screen, move the cursor until you highlight MONO or POLY, then press the [OPEN WINDOW] button.

Your mute group window will open. You can then set any one pad to cut off two other pads.

Thanx for the info. The MPC can be a simple yet complicating piece of equipment. There's always a shortcut to be found.
