ok i think i made a mistake after all... it seems that i had put the ribbon cable in the wrong place, but after switching when i turn the mp on it freezes at the 'wait' screen...

Your not trying to be clever are you?!

So you get into the mixer screen...Hit the pad with the sample on u want to assign...Hit open Window, then assign the pad to an output(s) and you get no sound? This same sound comes out the stereo tho right?!

Hmmm, u got the outs hooked up to the desk right? no mutes on the mixer? levels up etc? Jacks in? blah blah

Maybe u need to go back a few steps...Where u get the board from, and what instructions did u refer to on fitting the board. Is the ribbon cable in the right way up

Do u get a presence of power/current coming out the outs when u switch the MPC on. Ie. Desk lights flash up quickly

it is a mutec board. i have checked that the samples wasn't muted and the cables were in the right place... but i am confused regarding the ribbon cable - there is 2slots to put it in and as far as i know (think) the ribbon cable should be in the slot which is right beside the ado interface, am i right about that? because as mentioned before i have tried both. if i set the ribbon in the one right beside my mp freeze...
i have a spare interface without the mounting plate that i tried so i could determin wether it was the card or me that id doing something wrong and it acts the same way, so im almost certain that i am doing something wrong - i just cannot see it...

btw. im not trying to be clever, as you can see otherwise i would have figured this out by know

Hmmm, u didnt really answer me throughout did u?!

Anyway, There is only one spot that Ribbon cable can go....Do u have the manual. Its all in there man. Really easy. What im saying is make sure u got it facing the right side in. Freezing is an indication that u got it in wrong.

hey bravo... i checked the ribbon cable again and found out that i hadn't pushed it all the way down
so im a bit sorry that i wasted your time in something that shouldn't had been a problem, thanx for helping me out though
