will the plug jacks of an MPC ever fail?

I'm in a position where I have to keep unplugging and plugging the cables in from my MPC (because it sits on the dust cover of my turntable and I remove the MPC when I DJ); I just wanted to know this will ever wear the jacks out? I'm sure one day they'll die out from the repeated wear of doing so, but from personal experience has this happened to any of you already? Anyone who goes gigging with it, have you had any experiences of the plug jacks failing?

that shits about to happen to me wit my 2k classic,cuz back then wen i couldnt find a comfortable spot wit my mpc(thank god i only had a mpc bak then) i would move around,every were in tha house wit my lil setup,but now i got alot more hardware so i stay put n now when i be turnin tha volume up on my mpc itll lose signal on like tha left or right speakers but once i let go of tha knob it comes back right away.so hopefully that dont happen to u,or mine just goes completly out

maybe you could unplug the jacks from the mixer and not the MPC.... that way you put the wear and tear on the mixer on the MPC..... I'm assuming the mixer is less expensive, therefor easier to replace.

why don´t you buy some adapters for the jacks? so you would wear out those instead of harming your expensive equipment....

Yeah. I wouldn't keep unplugging the MPC. All inputs and output contacts will wear out if you keep unplugging them. Don't use the MPC like a patchbay.

yeh i believe my spdif out has failed, or it just wont seem to work with my hardware...

Yep, any jack socket will wear out after too much use. Build a shelf, a drawer, anything to create a good spot for the MPC - moving it around all the time and unplugging jacks is a pain anyway. Failing that, get a patchbay.
