won't start up "no system file!!"

yeayea...i'm definitely new to this mpc thing. JUST bought it on ebay and hope that it's not effed up, but when I turn it on with the system disk the screen says "no system file !!" and won't activate regardless of which buttons I press. the manual says nothing about this and nowhere else on the internet does either (?).

If you could, please get at me about this ASAP!

ALSO, if you know the best way to integrate the MPC with Mac programs (are there any good SoundForge-like Mac compatible sound editors?!?).

go there and download the operating system- 1.14- put that on a floppy and use that floppy to boot the mpc- it should find the file and boot up for you-

What if I am usin' the MPC2000 classic, where can I find an OS for this?
