That oxygen 8 is hot. I got mine for like $115 bucks or something, and use it to lay down baselines and other melodies with "autochromatic assign". Its fun..and I barely read the instruction manual. Have fun with it man.

Oxy8 has no sound output, it only triggers midi notes linked to sounds/samples in your MPC. So no, you only need outputs from the MPC connected your mixer..

i'mturning myself onand off of oxygen...i'ts strange for mytobuy keyboard which cent make sound,but those audio+midi cost more.
anyway,what can you control?
let's say ihave some sampleon mpc(10sec)
i play it via the oxygen keys,pitch is changing
what else? can those knobs be functional?

i copped an oxygen 8 a few weeks ago. i've never read the instructions but from what i can tell you can freak the oxygen (or any midi controller) two different ways with the mpc2000xl
1 - autochromatically assign the sample. it will put it all across the keyboard at different pitches.
2 - follow the multi-sample tutorials on this site so you can play actual notes rather than autochro pitch shifts.
i cant think of a reason why i would use the oxygen 8 to do anything with a long sample. just piano/bass/instrument sounds. it sounds like perhaps you already have keyboards with internal sounds. if so, there's no reason for you to bother but if you dont have the money for extra equipment i'd recommend getting the oxygen 8.
