weird scsi question for yall

okay so im sick of zip drives and jaz drives
they constantly corrupt on me... ive lost at least 30 beats from them messing up

so heeres my questions. whoever can answer this gets mad love
i have a scsi to usb coverter
i use it to connect my scsi zip drive to my computer via usb.

like i said though... im sick of these drives... is there a way of using you computers internal drive as a scsi drive? like an emulator of some sort that would allow you to load up your hardrive in the mpc?

You should actually be sick of Iomega. They are the problem. Crappy consumer products. I have Sysquest drive that may be older then most people on this board and it still going strong. Unfortunately Iomega bought out SQ.

There is a way to get a MPC to mount an IDE drive by a SCSI-IDE bridge, but useless since MPC's do not read PC hard drive format. Just buy an old 4 gig SCSI drive in an external case. The last drive I bought for $10 at the local computer repair shop and I put it in an external case I found at a thrift shop for $4.

My preferred removable medium is compact flash. My MPC's have SCSI CF card readers instead of floppies. No moving parts, no clicks, and best of all I can spill beer on the card and it still works.

A lot of apple user are selling "old" scsi gear on ebay, cause they move on to firewire... and it`s very cheap.
I have an external 2 GB HD connected to my mpc 2k, it`s divided in different partitions, for sounds and beats... Another good scsi device is a 640mb MO-Drive. Disks are very reliable, some of the disks i use are older than 4 years and the still work. Not like the Zip-disks....

I don't. Everything that goes into the MPC is actually a 2nd copy from another location (another MPC or PC). If I do anything on the MPC, it gets saved twice, once to the HD and again to the compactflash card. I then archive the CF card on a computer to CD.

If the HD goes out at any time, nothing is lost except a few minutes of work since there is already a 2nd copy somewhere.

how do you add a cf card reader to an mpc... is it scsi?

MPC 3000. How would one go about doing the same thing as the above, but with a Apple G4? I want to do that exact same thing. That set sounds like that would be a huge savior.

Here's my set up......If I left anything out, let me know.

I have a MPC2KXL, KORG TRITON, Roland XV-3080. Record on a MAC G4 with Cubase VST 5.1

Anyway, I seq. in the MP. Save MP stuff on an extrenal SCSI drive. Save Triton stuff on floppies. (I know, I know...getting rid of the SCSI....Read soooo much stuff on it here...WOW!......Just had a taste of the clik of death..."disk read error"....Lost some good sh**).

If MPC 3000 or any of y'all could help me out, I'd greatly appreciate it.
