How do I record from my MP with the digital out to my PC?

I connected the cable from the out off the digital output to the digital SPDIF in on my audiophile card... I turned on so the input is set to the spdif in the computer...

but I still cant get the damm thing to record... I can sample with the spdif and digital in on the mp, that works fine...

do u have to set something up in the mp so that the signal goes out from the digital output?[/u]

the problem is your PC not the MPC, the Digital OutPut is always on.
check your pc settings..

Make sure the sample rates are the same and u have that set up right on the MPC. Also check meters cause it could be playing and u just dont hear it b/c u have the wrong setting checked. Like u have Monitor Mixer and some other ish i have the card but I cant remeber of the top of my head.

yeh, ive got the same problem, and have tried every combination of settings. i plugged it into my friends soundcard ( echo ) and it worked fine.
