Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000
By bayse Thu Sep 29, 2005 12:49 pm
hi fellas,
got my mpc 2000xl since 3 years. allways worked with an iomega 100 zip drive. guess whut: it fell down, doesn't work anymore.
my question: what other possibilities are there, to save and load my stuff.
does the mpc work with a harddisk? Does it interact with the harddisc of my g3apple? How do i connect them?

i'm down at th moment, can't make no music
thankful 4 every reply

you can connect scsi hard drive(i got one once,it never worked ont the mpc) some work some don't, there's a way you can plug some build in memory (flash card or rom) or get a floppy and back up on computer.

thank you guys, gave me some hope
@pt3r: is it possible to install a internal zip instead of the card reader.
does it work the same way like your tut?
i have a floppy installed, and it dont looks like there would fit a zip in.
(floppy out-zip in of course)

@ djrespect: alles klar, mann? österreich inna house,
könn ma ja eigentlich deutsch sprechen, oder is des unfair auf dem board?
naja, hast du n internes zip, hab ich gelesen. wie hast du des gemacht?
questions over questions...

Of course you can replace with a zip but I would go for the reader since it gives more storage capacity, it's noiseless and last but not least no moving parts. Do a search on click of death and you will start to understand why I gave up on zip drives.

just do the card reader. why would you want a cd reader? cds are not nearly as easy to write and rewrite to as flash memory.

just put the card reader in! im getting ready to as soon as I get the funds together

könnten wir schon aber dann flippt sicher wieder jemand aus....
it might not look as if a zip drive fits, but it does! no problem to install (you only have to cut off the power cables from the zip drive and the mpc and connect them, since they got different jacks) but I had the online documentation on how to install it back when you didn't have to sign up on mpc-tutor...maybe someone still got it
good luck
