I WANT TO PURCHASE AN MPC, AT THIS POINT I'M THINKING ABOUT AN MPC2000XL, AND THERE ARE DIFFERENT VERSIONS OF THE 2000XL, SOME WITH LESS OPTIONS SOME WITH MORE, SO WHICH ONE DO YOU THINK I SHOULD GET?......................................................................AND THEN AGAIN THE MPC1000, DOESNT LOOK BAD EITHER, I MEAN IT CAN DO ALL THE THINGS THE 2000XL CAN AND ITS LIGHTER, IS IT ANY GOOD, PLEASE HELP!

THANK YOU

I think beginning with the 1000 should be a good basic

It all depends on what you're looking for if you want to work on a pc/mac to do the wave editing and do the sequencing on a standalone machine then the mpc-1000 is the thing for you, If you want a more 'all-in-one' machine then go for the mpc2000xl. It is wrong to believe that the mpc-1000 can do everything the 2000xl does, we're talking different machines with a different filosophy behind it. I was in the same position as you and I went for the 2000xl (due to being fed up with trouble that my pc gave me) I'am happy as larry and would never go for a mpc1000 but that is my personal opinion. It all boils down to how you want to produce your tracks. If you don't like working on a pc/mac then go for a 2000/2000xl/4000 (if money is no problem )otherwise a 1000 is probably a good thing for you.

ps: Please check your caps -lock before you mail  it looks as if you're shouting or as if you type the post on an mpc :D
