couple of MPC2K questions....fairly simple if you know them!

1)if i have a 4 bar loop, how do i delete the 1st or second bars in the loop?

2)is there a simple way of syncing filtered basslines to match up with the non filtered sample in a loop( have them both play at the same time) without having to go back & sample the loop again?

3)can a track be "faded" in or out over the course of a loop?

1) goto the TRIM screen and get rid of whatever parts you dont want.

2) you can assign the same sample to different pads and have one filtered and one normal. you can also assign the pad to trigger more then one sound at a time when its hit from the PROGRAM screen (i believe)

1-i know the trim screen can trim/cut the SAMPLE...but i'm referring to a 4 bar loop with different tracks the you created on the mpc


2-um...how?!! whenever i filter the sample, it plays filtered on every pad that it is put on....if you can expound on this , i'd appreciate

3-imagine a 2 bar sequence...now on the first bar , the volume on track 1 is 100%...now by the end of the 2nd bar, i want the volume of track 1 to be at 10%

NO real-time fading. Only time you can actively change the volume of a sample by retriggering the sample. No, one time trigger - over time volume changing type junk.

YES it can be faded!!!
well the sample can!!

if u want to fade it out (at the end of the track for example) assign the sample to a free pad then open up the program settings and put a decay on the sample. adjust to your desire to get the effect you want. bare in mind the decay might be abrupt.

Yea it can be faded, just chop the sample asign it to the pads and change the velocity so that it gets softer.

dammit! last nite i tried to filtered the sample on 1 pad and keep it normal on another, but the "filtered" sample appears on any pad that has the sample assigned to it.. wut am i missing?!!!

what mpc are you using?? im using the 2000

i can assign the same sample to two different pads. and when you change the settings for one pad (i.e. Filter or Tune) it only changes THAT pad. its not changing the sample, its putting the effect on the pad..at least thats how I look at it....
