Synchronising an MPC with a DAW

I'm trying to connect my MPC2000XL to my DAW (Cubase SX) via my Terratec DMX soundcard so that i can send my MPC sequences to Cubase and also press play on the MPC and Cubase plays simultaneously.

I have a MIDI cable going out of the MPC into my soundcard. What am I missing?!

do a search on the forum to look for my cubase sync guide..
