Yeah it really did, thanx a million things are starting to become alot clearer now. One last q though before i get a mixer. I have a laptop running Reason but i have no sound card. I prob need to invest in one at some stage n iwas looking at the firewire m-audio. Would that do the same job as a mixer and if so would it have enough outs and ins to do me for a fair few years. or are there any usb mixers i could use cus i dont nkow how else i would connect it to my comp. Than for all your help i really appreciate it. :D

your welcome, alot of people have trouble understanding MIDI, its not that hard, but you need to now that NO sound goes over the cable (unless its via MIDI SAMPLE DUMP, but that a different story.

well, and audiointerface can do the trick, then you connect the audio out of your MPC to the ins of the soundcard. i dont use reason anymore, but i vaguly remember that you cant have audio ins in reason, so you'll need an other program to handel the audio of you MPC and rewire reason to that program so you can mix in the box.

i'm not that good at computer music, but i think you will need a fast PC to do this. and, you stated that you have the 8outs so the best would be to have a soundcard with 10inputs wich is expensive.

i would go for a simple soundcard and a mixer because i dont like the comp to make music, but thats just my opinion. just read up on the possebilities you have and make your desision.

anyhow, good luck with you setup
