audio outputs

I was watching a dvd called making beats by mvp and he was syncing his
mpc-2000xl , midi controller and sound module to a VS-1880 digital recorder through midi time code. The sound module and midi controller are connected to the MPC through midi.My question is he mentioned that you need to connect your audio inputs to hear sound. Did he mean connect audio outputs from the MPC-2000xl and sound module to the VS-1880 if not what did he mean by that.

probably. He's just saying midi doesn't transmit sound.

yep that how i have mines hooked up...i have the outs from the stereo out on the mpc going into a track channel on my vs 1880 and now with elmacaco advice i can now sperate all of my sounds going into the vs 1880..What was the name of the dvd ..im intrested in purchasing..thanks
