What do you like the best about your mpc

I actually use a rs7000 . And I enjoy it but Im really interested in the mpc1000. I would just like to know what are your personal pros and cons of your mpc.

IM used to grid recording instead of real time so The pads seem very interesting to me but I dont want to just buy the pad midi interface considering how cheap the mpc 1000 is.

Its really more of a work flow issue. Im looking to speed up my production to keep the ideas flowing..

I mean why did you get one and does it fit all of your needs.

I used to have a atari running cue base,but ended up throwing in the dumpster (it still worked) .Then
after a friend showed me his mpc and how much could be done on it, i got one and never looked back .I suggest going to your local music store and spending some time on one,see if you like the feel.
its a personal thing.I cant speek on the 1000 but
the 2000xl has a lot to offer(its a deep machine)
see if you can down load a manuel some how,or just buy one from a store that offers a 30 day return policy and return it if you dont like it.

I have a MPC 60 and a 2000 XL, I love everything about them. What I love most is the versitility. They will never be outdated. You will always be able to sequence the newest samples and synth sounds through it not to mention the ease of operation and sound quality. I may be a lil biased but there is no other sampler or sequencer I would like and I have used quite a few, computer and analog.

i like the fact that i can assign slice samples and play around with them eisily to find a good melody/combination

i also like the fact that i can edit each individual note very quickly in step edit.

I like that the MPC is a blank slate with no sounds of its own. It's like the ultimate musical chameleon.
I like that it's a self-contained, portable, sampler/sequencer all-in-one machine.
But let's face it, IT'S ALL ABOUT THE PADS!

Ichyvinyl, I'm feelin you on that one. I love the dynamics of the machine as a whole. I had a few sequencers over the years with the Alesis mmt8 being my favorite. But none of them can do a drum roll like this one, and I just seem to show my ass when I am rockin a beat. If I feel weird, I get a unique beat. If I feel conventional,I can make a beat that emulates what I hear on the radio. (well at least close )

My only gripe is no internal output sampling like on the AR10, where you can sample your output and place it right back on a pad all internally.
Other than I'm very happy with my XL. That pads are magical man. I remember when I used to rock a roland r-8. I was always wishing the pads were not made of hard plastic (the reason why I sold my R-8 after getting an ARS10.) Then when I first played with an MPC my dreams were answered.

sequencer, sampler, drum machine all in one.

The Mpc's are the best production tools on the market as far as hardware.
I love working with hardware equipment. I understand using a little software for editing, or mastering, but as far as the actual production, I really like to have my hands on the control pannel. I love the feel of the MPC2000xl.
