Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000
By Marvin Grey Thu Oct 20, 2005 12:31 pm
I changed my 2kxl screen last night, It took me a while because I didnt know what path to take, but once I figured that out, it was pretty easy, mos def something you can do by yourself, you just have to take your time, and go slow..

wish I would have taked pics, but I didnt think about it..

I havent seen any post about changing the screen out, I only saw one on the 2000, so I thought I would post this

Did you make a tutorial about this ?

1. Remove top.
2. Remove black screen assembly
3. Open black screen assembly
4. Detach and remove broken LCD
5. Install new LCD
6. Re-attach assembly
7. Replace top.

"Did you make a tutorial about this ?"

I just did. It ain't rocket science. It's actually easier than replacing the CDROM assembly from a Series B iMac.

yeah he put up one about the 2000 not the 2000xl..

and its more than replacing the broke lcd, you have to disconnect the old cables from the board, and connect the new ones, I wish all you had to do was open up the assembly and replace the old lcd
