Storing my music to pc.

Please help, my problem is I have a friend who has lent me his mpc2000 and now wants it back. for the short time I have had it I have managed to make some music I really love, And without the mpc I have no way to here it seeing how the zip disk snd file cannot be read by my windows xp (or can it?). Is there a way i can transfer my music from the mpc to the pc so that I can burn my music to disk without having to buy any expensive equipment? All I have is the mpc2000 (with no output options) and pc, no other recording equipment. Please tell me in detail what I will need to do. Thank you! I REALLY appreciate it! [/b]

I'm assuming you have a standard sound card.

What u need:
two mono 1/4 to RCA adapter plugs.
one RCA to stereo 1/8 (if using the PC standard sound card)

1. Connect MPC main out to PC line in.
2. Record line in using any recording software.
3. Save file as 16bit, 44khz WAV.
4. Place a blank CD in your burner and drag that WAV file to your CD burner ICON located in MY COMPUTER.
5. Follow the prompts and menus to burn an audio CD.

Note* You can record and save several times for several different songs and afterwards drag and drop all of them to the CD burner ICON.

The sound card is to get your sound INTO the PC.

btw I would like to go pick up a sound card asap. where is the best place to get one, do they sell them at fry's? And do you have any recommendations for one that is cost effective? (i'm saving up for my own mpc).

Yes, Fry's has plenty of them, also any small mom and pop store should have cheap ones, I would go to one of those stores first though. Get one around 20-30 dollars just to get your stuff recorded for now, maybe cheaper. Later on though you will want/NEED a WAY better one for quality sound when makin serious stuff.
