Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000
By gutta Sat Oct 22, 2005 6:33 pm
I have the 2000XL Studio (8 outs +digital) and I've always tracked my beats through the 8 outs in to the 8 ins of my Echo Layla 24/96 card.

I have never tracked my beats through SPDIF and was wondering if there is better quality transferring digital.

I'm going to try it later on, but just wanted to hear other people's input.

It depends on the quality of the Echo Layla AD converters and the cables you are using, which should be fine. Are you hearing noise in the signal path?

Your MPCs SPDIF digital out is on a RCA type connector. Isn't the Layla digital input on an optical type connector? If so, you can't connect them. But generally, digital to digital connections (in gear this price range) sounds much better.

spdif is only 2 channel but digital and much cleaner/clearer.

ive found the spdif's to give the sound a more crisp sheen, when recording the stereo output to computer.

My 8-outs Go into 8 Mono inputs on my Soundcraft M12 > From my M12 out through SP/Diff into SP/Diff in on my M-Audio. Sound is real Nice and Clean.

can't u use BOTH the S/PDIF an Analog outs at the same time, I dont see why the thread question isnt S/PDIF AND ANalog not S/PDIF OR analog... :?:
