8 outs and S/dif questions

I got a slew of questions about the Akai IB-M208, hopefully someone can help me out:
1- Is the S/DIF Digital I/O allow you to send an additional 1 more out bringing the total to 9 [8 analog, 1 digital]? Or are they treated the same as MAIN output, and just sends whatever sound is being sent to main output? If the
2- If it is possible to use the S/DIF as an additional out, what # would it be on the mixer screen as channels 1-8 are for the analog?

It's just a replacement for the main analogue outputs - a stereo signal is sent through the single digital output.
