distortion on one of the channels 2000 xl

on the 2000 xl
when i play a kick mostly, on my headphones i get
a lil cracking noise, on the right or left side, is not the headphones

haven't tried on monitors cause i dont have any at the house.

anyone know what this could be? any one else had this or has this lil problem?

Stereo or mono samples?

Maybe it's clipping cuz it's too loud? Usually one channel is a bit louder than the other one.

what outputs are you using?

the digital, or the analog?

the analog wont make a clipping sound, but the digital most likely will

He's using headphones, so analog stereo outs.

You said it's not the headphones so i assume you've tried other sets right?
