Nope, it was still foreign to me. Besides that I've been so caught up in some other things that I just recently started back beat making. I just title my tracks on the mpc accordingly and go from there. It's not so bad recording the phreostoric way. I guess I'm just one of those I have to see it being done people. But thanxx all the same fellas.

Have u found the send/dump midi option on the module...I dont have a Planet Phatt (PP) so I can't say exactly where to look.

Just to be clear you need an extra midi lead from the PP's Midi Out to go to the MPC's Midi In

Now, what ur aiming to do is dump the multi mode setup into the MPC...The best way i find, is to use a blank seq , (name it whatever the song is + Midi dump)

Make it 4bars and set the BPM to about 60 (This will allow good time for the MPC to retrigger the settings in the future)

Select Track 1....Now go into the step edit screen....Make sure ur set on all 0's. Then execute the dump. Press 'YES' , 'DO IT' , 'OK' or whatever the confirm send/dump button is on the PP.

If sucessful, when the dump is complete, you should see the following:
E.g
Exclusive: F0 42 3B .. .. .. .. .. right the way across (Thats the code... Dont change or mess with it)

Now save the seq etc...When you reload the song and the original seq's make sure u remember to reload that one too. Then go to it and press the play button on ur MPC. The PP should show some sign of transmitting the dump via its screen. This should all be done by the time you hit 4bars anyway.

Now flick back to ur main seq and ur sounds should be back just the way you left em....Try It!

(Remember to send new dumps if you make changes to sounds and channels...Ease the old dump 1st)

Thats it folks...I tried to break it down nice and clearly

Let me know how you get on

you've dumped all your midi information intothe MPC from the mo phatt/planett phat...

ok.. so you switch off both machines , cut the power on both of them back on and you load up the midi files on the MPC u just saved, u hit play and u hear DIFFERENT instruments...

how do you guys, get everything back in the mo phatt/planet phatt the way you had it ?? the way you recorded it with the presets
do you guys write the name of the presets /patches down on a peice of paper and do this everysingle time

You have to send the message from your module to your MPC, In your module there is a Feature call MIDISYSEX Exclusive. Look for send MIDIsysex in the global setting or Midi menu of your module. Read your manual of your module it will tell you have to setup and send the this message tyo your MPC. than when you save the program of the Beat or song you made the info will be written in the MIDI sequence.

Once you turn everything back on, go to the SEQ with your dump, I hope it's separate and hit play "then the midi info" is sent to the Module once inside it will make a "faint" noise to confirm that it has accepted the changes if the Phatt has a MIDI "light" it should blink to confirm the message has been sent and then the presets you saved in your DUMP will be back to where they were.

That thread would not help. The poster wants Sysex not Prog/Bank change messages.

Sysex is pretty easy
1) connect synth midi out to MPC midi in.
2)Hit record on MPC
3) initiate sysx dump from synth.
4) hit stop on the MPC.

All done.

But if so, doesn't the mpc require the keyboard to use the midiout to midi in of the mpc ?
