you probably have to go into the midi/sync screen on the mpc and set it up there. then go into your software and set the midi up there.

The only three modes I see are MIDI clock, MIDI time code and off. under those settings.

Midi out to in and vice versa...........
If the mpc is the master go from the out to the in on your interface.

That's how you sync 2 midi devices.Set the mpc up to midi time clock(Mtc) or whatever's compatible in SB and the rest should be kind if easy.Make sure you read through both manuals and you should get it with no problem.

I dont want to sync the MPC. I want to use the pads to control synths and samplers on my PC and otherwise.

I don't know if Sonar can do that because i don't use it.If you do a Search there are a few tutorials on Sonar that might give you what you need.I think if you have the mpc midi out to you Sb midi in and then midi the Sb into your soundcard you should be able to.I don't see why it wouldn't work liek that, but once again i don't have Sonar so i'm not sure.

Does the SB have midi connects?
