Cursor button not working.

Easy People,

The down button on the cursor pad seems to work when it wants. Has anyone else had this problem and is there any quick way it can be fixed?

Failing that where in the UK can I get it serviced on the cheap??

i had this happen with one of my F buttons. but it fixed itself. sometimes i still have problems with it, but I havent had anything totally give up on me yet

your button isnt sitting properly on the little button inside the mpc that actually triggers the cursor move


its funny because ive had problems with my down button also.



take it apart, and make sure the button is sitting in there properly

I have that problem sometimes, I just deal.
I'll probably take it apart soon, just to double check that it does line up or not.

Which MPC do you have? If its the 2k i have the whole replacement board(the board with all the buttons and the 16 pad surface) for it. Contact me at [email protected] for more information/pics.

Cheers for the respones people. It must have not been sitting properly. I moved the unit and it worked like normal after that.

Damn..... I have the same thing with my F buttons. I've been waiting for it to "fix itself" for a while now, but it seems hopeless.

If anybody has a replacement board for a 2000xl, i'd be very interested.

in my case there seems to be no problem with the mechanical part of the buttons. All six "F" buttons stopped working, and even if i "short" the connection with a piece of wire on the circuitboard instead of pressing the button it still does not work.
I tried loading a new OS too, but that didn't solve it either.
You know a lot about this stuff, so if you can help me out a bit that would would be fantastic.

Aren't the function buttons on a separate board? A simple continuity test from the mainboard to the button may reveal a broken connection.

A $10 multimeter would go a long way here.

I'll give that a try this weekend. I think i have a multimeter somewhere at work.
