Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

well, I just purchased my very first MPC2000xl and everything seems to be in working order. The only thing I've come across that I'm a little curious about is that when I try to record samples onto it, I can only record about 10 seconds worth. i don't think it's a memory issue. it has 32 megs or ram, and it displays that in the sample screen when i click open. is this just something the MPC does? can I record more than 10 seconds? or is there something wrong w/ my MPC?

This might be the problem in the sampling mode you have the time set to 10 sec. Go in and change it if you do have 32 megs of memory you should get 189.2 seconds of sample time.

Just look on the screen when your sampling, the starting time is 10 secs...just highlight it, then move the wheel around to change it. Peace.

im a newbie too...never had any mpc and always dreamt of...
i tell u im lovin it more and more as days go by...and its pretty basic too...16 megs memory, no fx and no 8 outs...just an external scsi zip....
im usin it standalone and also to control other hardware, especially for live purposes...just performed two dates and all was great! best live setup i ever placed my dirty hands on!
