So I don't use 16 levels to write bass lines. The NV slider works nicely. Also I like to use it to modulate highhat frequency. It give the sequence some movement.

what mpc are you using? you use it for basslines? any example you could let me hear of you using the slider for that? im curious, seems like it would be hard to do...

For a bassline I'd use it on a single or double cycle looped sine, triangle or saw wave.

As we all know it's not realtime, so it works best with very short samples and very short sine, triangle and saw waves that are restricted to 1 -2 cycles.

It's not hard though, just takes a second to get used to.

I find I write lines I never would have if I was playing keys.

No examples to share right now.

I've got some good ARP waveforms that are super thick that work nice. 808 kicks never disappoint neither.
