What is resampling exactly and how to do it on a 2000

im new to the game somewhat on the mpc and production. and i jus switched from a eps to an mpc. but one thing i never understood was the resampling process. can somebody explain how and what it is reall

Confusingly, two different things go by the name of 're-sampling'

1 Taking something that was created on a sampler and turning it in to a new sample. For instance when you've layered 3 kicks together in your sampler, put envelopes on them, filtered one and put FX on another, and you record the result to turn it in to a single new sample.

2 Converting a sample to a new (lower) sample rate or bit depth. for instance turning a 44.1khz/16bit sample into a 32khz/12bit sample.

Process 2 is described in your manual. To execute process 1 on an MPC2000(xl) you need an external recording device.

well i got the akai from a dude on this site in september. and it didnt come with the manual. so i learned how to use it fast, minus the bits and pieces. plus i go by what evil dee said in the source 3 years ago.. "equipment is like sex. you dont look for a book to tell on how to do it. u need hands on experience."

and thats what i go by on every piece of equipment i get.

Yea I hear you on justgetting hands on but reading the manual will only help and most questions you ask hear is goin to get the same response, "Read the Manual".........
So dont exspect any help from people if you're just to lazy to read.

BUT a manual can save beginners some time too... for example where to find the clit or basic tutorials on teabaggin' so you wont make a fool of yourself when you're ready to.. "put your ball's where the mouth is" so to speak
