im buying a jaz drive any tips?

hey guys im buying a jaz drive today for a real good price i was wondering if you guys had any tips on this device any dos or dont it holds up to 1 gig so thats a lot of files i can store on the go and what not also im going to be transferred files between my laptop and the mpc2000 any if you guys use the scsi to usb cable before i am going to buy one but the cable is like 70 dollars and thats a cheaper one any where i can get one or anyone have any to spare im willingto buy thanks

Jazz discs are very fragile I wouldnt recommend that drive at all. U should grab a multi card reader.

yep............but it has to be external for the 2k,also look into an external hd.Maybe even a zip.I know alot of cats have had problems with zips but i've had mine for a year,got it used,and it's still running fine.But i do have a spare,just in case.

I OWN A MPC 2000 SO ITS NOT CAPABLE OF HOLDING A MULTICARD READER AT ALL PLUS IM GETTING THE JAZ DRIVE FOR 10 BUCKS WHICH ISNT BAD AT ALL SO WITH THAT I THINK IM GETTING A GOOD DEAL BUT TRUST ME IF THE DISC ARE FRAGILE I WILL BE HOLDING THEM VERY CAREFULLY VERY CAREFULLY

i got 2 jaz drives and they work fine. got 1 on ebay and the other from a lawyers office. i havent dropped them yet tho.

i have no complaints.

Tip ...

The MPC2000 can "*easily*" hold an internal multi card reader provided that it is a SCSI version.

"*easily*" meaning you'll need to make some other minor internal wiring changes to make things work.

i just modded an MPC2000 to use an internal SCSI card reader. Went a bit easier than I expected (warning: easy to me is pain to someone else!).

It cost me nothing. The connector I swiped from an really, really old discarded printer that had a SCSI option port.

Then I ripped it out, re-installed the original parts and sent it back to the owner.

hi - is there anywhere i can find out how to do this? does it require soldering? what's the deal?

edit: i did a bit of searching. internal is probably too difficult, and external means i have to find a PCD-40, which in the uk is hard to do. and basically they're too expensive....

...unless anyone knows of a cheap source? is it possible to use an internal card reader, and buy the external caddy yourself?
