AKAI IB-M208P PROBLEM (no sound being recorded out into Cubase SX)
I have my IB-M208P (MPC 2KXL 8 outs board) which has 8 outs going from my Akai MPC 2000XL into my audio interface which is a Motu 828mkII. I have the devices now running into Cubase SX and they are perfectly synchronised with me being able to control the software (Cubase SX) through pressing the start and stop button from the MPC.
I also have my mixer screen on the MPC 2KXL set up that the pads which I want to record out are reading 12 34 56 78 above the channel, and the mixer is turned up approximately half to 3 quarters of the way up so that sound will be sent through.
Within Cubase SX I have loaded up an empty project, and added 4 stereo audio tracks and then entering into the VST connections screen under inputs added an additional 3 stereo buses, so that my ASIO Device Port now reads 1 Analog 1 (on the left speaker), 2 Analog 2 (on the right speaker) under the first stereo in, increasing in corresponding order to correlate with the number of the stereo input (so for example Stereo In 3 (although named 2 in the area) is 5 Analog 5 for the left speaker, and 6 Analog 6 for the right speaker).
However when I set the tracks up to record, and press play on the MPC, the sequencer will start to move as well as the bar which forms on the screen as if to show that it is reading the data being sent MPC but there is no audio being transmitted whatsoever. This means nothing is being sent, and I have nothing to play back in Cubase SX.
HELP PLEASE, HAVE I CONFIGURED SOMETHING WRONG IN CUBASE SX OR DOES THIS IMPLY THAT THE IB-M208P ISN’T WORKING PROPERLY…ALL HELP APPRECIATED. MANY THANKS.
